HBAA Team Series #1 and #2 was a success


Cedar Bluff Reservoir, KS (April 19, 2026) — Hays Bass Anglers Association’s Team Trail Series #1 & #2 featured cold, wind and even warmer temperatures at the conclusion of the two-day series opener Saturday and Sunday, April, 18-19, on Cedar Bluff Reservoir. The tournament weekend was sponsored by Marine Specialty of Wilson, Kansas. The team of Jason Leiker and Mitch Keeley weighed in the heaviest bag, tipping the scales at 17.13 pounds, on Saturday during HBAA’s Team Series #1, a day when anglers were faced with cold and windy conditions. The team of Keith Harmoney and Clayton Rudman weighed in the biggest largemouth bass of the day at 6.46 pounds. HBAA’s Team Series # 2 launched Sunday morning in blustery conditions that later warmed but anglers delt with strong southerly winds most of the day. The team of Klint VonFeldt and Chris Unruh weighed in the biggest bag on day two with five fish weighing 12.04 pounds. The team of Rudman and Harmoney weighed in the big bass in tournament #2 with a largemouth tipping the scales at 4.03 pounds. Marine Specialty, the weekend sponsor, contributed additional sponsorship money for the team with the biggest two-day bag limit, which was won by the team of Keeley and Leiker. HBAA’s Team Series for 2026 features six tournaments on three Kansas reservoirs with a championship tournament scheduled for Oct. 3rd at a lake to be determined later.
